The Spoon Trade Restaurant

A fine, organic, farm-to-table, American eatery.

PROJECT GOAL: This was a brand-new restaurant in the area, that initially requested a logo and website. The business owners wanted a modern but vintage farm vibe for their branding. They also needed to be able to update the copy-heavy content on their website daily, especially their menu.

PROJECT EXPERIENCE: We needed images for the website, but the restaurant was still getting renovated and the restaurant had a few more months before opening. So, we went to a local farmers’ market and we shot some macro images of fresh produce that the chef was planning on implementing in some recipes. As the restaurant took shape, we was inspired by some of the interior design aspects like reclaimed wood and antique spoons.

PROJECT OUTCOME: We chose a script font complimented by a typewriter serif, with a rusty red and slate blue color pallet. The owners likes to slightly change the color pallet seasonally, to complement their ever-changing, seasonal menu. They asked us to do several food and product photo shoots for features in publications, as well as product package designs and social media campaigns. After two years in business we also helped them conduct some customer feedback surveys to collect some measurable data and establish some new sales and marketing goals.
